Creative engagement provides an opportunity to challenge unconscious bias in our community.
At Quilombo UK, we ask difficult questions and help re-frame perspectives through workshops, events and training, using digital and workshop-based learning tools.
Working in the London borough of Kingston, we are invited by businesses, schools and other organisations to open and lead discussions around stereotypes and prejudice.
We have devised a number of creative ways to support positive change. These include:
Are you biased? Take the Diversity Game Challenge to find out! The Diversity Game raises awareness of our biases, challenging us to think differently and can be delivered as a simple event activity or as part of our Unconscious Bias Workshop. Find out more here.
An interactive team game that encourages collaboration & cross-cultural understanding. Every community treasures their culture. This activity provides the opportunity to exchange these treasures while educating about diversity, traditions and beliefs. This is a service offered to schools, local government and organisations. Find out more here.
Could you walk a day in someone else’s shoes? Our Changing for Change (C4C) social experiments and short documentaries are a great tool to raise awareness of the discrimination people can encounter because of particular characteristics such as religion, ethnicity, or gender. Find our more here.
Unconscious bias influences all of us – even the simplest decisions we make on a daily basis. Our interactive Unconscious Bias workshop uses the Diversity Game tool to creatively raise the issue of bias. Our workshops create a safe environment for participants to debate the concept and discuss how much it influences people without them even realising. Find out more here.
